A woman has been charged after allegedly shooting at two teenagers on a property 35km south of Brewarrina.
Police said the teenagers, aged 13 and 19, were sitting in a four-wheel-drive stopped on Tarcoon Road at 5pm on Tuesday when the 36-year-old woman approached them with a firearm.
The woman is alleged to have fired a number of shots at the vehicle.
Bullets are alleged to have struck the bonnet of the vehicle near the steering wheel.
Police said the teenagers were not injured and
the alleged shooter fled the scene.
An investigation began and police executed a search warrant on a property at Gongolgon, 45km south of Brewarrina.
Officers seized an unregistered .22 calibre rifle and ammunition for forensic examination.
A 36-year-old woman was arrested late on Thursday.
She was taken to Brewarrina police station where she was interviewed and charged with discharging a firearm in a public place with disregard for the safety of persons, possessing an unauthorised firearm and possessing ammunition without a permit.
The woman was granted conditional bail to appear in Brewarrina Local Court on July 20.
Brewarrina is situated on the Barwon River 378 kilometres north-west of Dubbo. Other towns and villages in the district include Goodooga, Gongolgon, Weilmoringle and Angledool.
